Head Varsity Softball Coach
School District of North Fond du Lac

The School District of North Fond du Lac is seeking an energetic and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Varsity Softball Coach. This position will begin in March 2025 and conclude in June 2025. Practices will be held after school, with competitions in the evenings and some weekend events.


Experience & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and supervise a high school athletic program.

  • Previous coaching experience preferred, with a strong knowledge base in softball.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with high school students while modeling positive character, leadership, and responsible behavior.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration with staff, athletes, and families.


Special Considerations

  • Flexible schedule required to accommodate practices, games, and other program needs.


Position Summary

The Head Varsity Softball Coach is responsible for directing and supporting the high school softball program with an education-based philosophy of teaching and coaching. The coach will lead the varsity team while also providing vision and leadership for the entire program, ensuring alignment across all levels.


Essential Duties

  • Implement all District and School Athletic policies and procedures.

  • Know, interpret, and apply all WIAA and softball-specific regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with all requirements related to physicals, parent consent, and athlete eligibility.

  • Prepare for and supervise all scheduled practices, games, and facility use.

  • Promote and model sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and responsibility.

  • Establish and teach the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques of the program.

  • Communicate expectations, rules, and responsibilities to athletes and parents.

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to athletes, assistant coaches, managers, and volunteers.

  • Maintain discipline, address concerns, and foster cooperation among the coaching staff.

  • Coordinate the issuing, collection, and inventory of equipment, ensuring proper care and accountability.

  • Support athlete safety by following procedures for injuries and emergencies.

  • Assist with fundraising efforts to enhance program resources beyond the budget.

  • Maintain positive relationships with parents, officials, media, booster clubs, and the community.

  • Serve as a positive role model, representing both the softball program and the school district.

  • Complete all required trainings and certifications.

  • Other duties as assigned.
