3.25 hours/day, school year, student contact days (10:00 am - 1:15 pm)
Part Time
To assist in serving the students and other customers attractive, cost effective, and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
1.      Maintains positive, professional, and respectful relationships with all school personnel, students, and other customers.
2.       Assists with the preparation of food using established recipes/instructions and proper sanitation methods.
3.       Assists with serving the students and other customers in an efficient and pleasant manner following the established menu and using correct portion sizes.
4.       Assists with the replenishing of food supplies during the meal service.
5.       Assists with daily cleanup of equipment, utensils, trays, and food service areas using established sanitation methods.
6.       Performs major cleaning of refrigerators, ovens, milk coolers, storerooms, or other designated areas at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the Kitchen Manager. 
7.       Maintains effective and positive communication with Food Service staff, other school personnel and customers, and students.
8.       Assists with the storage and disposal of unused foods.
9.       Complies with USDA regulations pertaining to meal service.
10.    Ability to move up to other positions as needed when other staff member(s) are absent.
11.    Follows established food safety plan when performing job duties.
12.    Completes necessary hours of continuing education each school year to meet the requirements of USDA’s Professional Standards for School Nutrition Program Employees.
13.    Performs related duties as required and as directed by the Kitchen Manager and the Director of Food Services.
 
1. Demonstrated aptitude to maintain positive relationships with school personnel, students and other customers.
2. Demonstrated ability, aptitude and competence to maintain a safe, sanitary, and efficient food service facility.
3. Demonstrated desire for continuing self-improvement in food service knowledge, ability, and skills by attending Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction continuing education classes, seminars, conferences, etc.
4. Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds, and ability to push and pull up to 75 pounds.
