Summary:
The Principal is the school’s Chief Academic Officer, and, as such, is the professional staff person in the school responsible for the daily internal operations and all academic affairs. The Principal reports to the school President and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The Principal has direct oversight of the Dean of Students, faculty, and academic guidance department. The Principal is an active participant and leader in the implementation and execution of the school’s strategic plan.
The Principal is the recognized educational leader of the school and is thus responsible for all duties to maintain a smooth daily operation of the school, while ensuring the continual advancement of Catholic Memorial High School as the leader in Catholic formation and educational excellence. The principal is responsible for fostering academic partnerships with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Office of Catholic Schools, local Catholic high schools, and elementary schools, as well as regional institutions of higher education and local businesses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement the Academic and Student Programs as detailed in the strategic plan.
- Integrate the Catholic faith within the CMH community.
- Hire, develop, mentor, and evaluate faculty and support staff involved in the day-to-day operation of the school.
- Create a positive culture among faculty and academic employees.
- Serve as a non-voting member of the Board of Directors, participate in regular meetings.
- Lead the Education Committee. Attend all other committee meetings as needed and requested.
- Develop curriculum and academic programs, ensuring appropriate implementation.
- Use data to measure student outcomes and academic success of the school and build continual improvement plans based on the data.
- Responsible for School Accreditation and implementation of all academic goals and improvements.
- Responsible for oversight and successful implementation and outcomes of all academic programs including but not limited to International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement and Project lead the Way.
- Collaborate and communicate with parents on a timely basis.
- Ensure the policies and/or regulations of the School Board of Directors are adhered to within the school and at all school sanctioned events.
- Collaborate with all leaders of the school to ensure a safe environment.
- Lead daily school operations.
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing.
- Department of Public Instruction certification as Principal or completion of certification within the timing guidelines provided by the Milwaukee Archdiocese and Accreditation Oversight Authority.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
