Part Time
EIR paraprofessional works collaboratively with kindergarten through 2nd grade on literacy skills. This position also includes supervising recess. Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 2:00pm, when school is in session.
Must be highly qualified as a paraprofessional due to Title I status or be willing to achieve the status.
Job Goal: An EIR/recess paraprofessional teams with kindergarten, first and second grade teachers to deliver tutoring services to children in need of remedial reading help. Each day the aide works with children in one to one tutoring, small group reading practice, or to supervise a whole group while the teacher delivers remedial reading instruction to a small group of students. The paraprofessional will also supervise students while at recess with other colleagues. Ensure that recess is a safe, orderly, respectful, and comfortable environment for all students. Maintain high visibility to the students; provide direction to student movement and behavior, and correct students who are not meeting behavioral expectations. Perform all other jobs that are delegated by Administration.

Demonstrated skills in positive human relations and cultural competence
Demonstrated skills in problem solving and conflict management
Minimum education high school diploma, with preference for candidates with additional credits at a technical for university level
Current First Aid/CPR certified or willing to obtain
Must be highly qualified as a paraprofessional due to Title I status or be willing to achieve the status.
