Position Overview: A dynamic and student-centered Technology Education (Tech Ed) Teacher to join our high school faculty. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students develop technical skills and career-readiness in areas such as engineering, manufacturing, woodworking, digital fabrication, computer-aided design (CAD), and related technologies. This educator will design and deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences that integrate real-world applications, promote problem-solving, and prepare students for postsecondary opportunities in technical fields.
 
Qualifications:
- Valid Wisconsin teaching license in Technology Education or other qualified area of expertise (or eligibility for licensure through the various DPI avenues).
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum development, and assessment strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
- Knowledge of PBIS and MLSS (preferred)
 
Key Responsibilities:
Professional Knowledge: 
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of technology education curriculum, subject content, and industry trends.
- Designs lessons that incorporate state and national standards with the curriculum framework.
- Differentiates instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. 

Instructional Planning: 
- Develop and implement rigorous, hand-on lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and educational objectives.  
- Participates actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and contributes to collaborative planning and data analysis.
- Integrates career and technical educational concepts into core instruction.
 
Instructional Delivery: 
- Uses a range of instructional strategies and resources, including project-based learning, collaborative work, and technology tools.
- Provides a variety of instructional strategies including but not limited to, real-world thinking, creativity, and problems solving through authentic challenges and engineering design processes.
 
Assessment for and of Learning: 
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Provides timely, constructive feedback to students and uses assessment data to support student growth.
- Maintains accurate records of student progress and communicates regularly with families and school staff.
 
Learning Environment: 
- Establishes and maintains a respectful, safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Promotes respect, collaboration and student ownership of learning.
 
Professionalism: 
- Upholds legal, ethical, and professional standards in all interactions.
- Participates in ongoing professional development, training and certifications to enhance teaching practices.
- Actively engages in school initiatives, curriculum development and school wide improvement efforts.
