The Cedarburg School District seeks a highly dedicated and intrinsically motivated Teaching and Learning Coordinator to help teachers use technology to promote student engagement, achievement and ownership for learning. Applicants must possess the requisite knowledge and skills to independently perform the expected duties, while demonstrating the most positive of attitudes. Candidates must be adept at fostering mutually respectful relationships with students, parents, colleagues and community members. A tireless work ethic and sense of humor are mandatory. Applicants should be skilled at coordinating technology integration across content areas/grade levels by providing outstanding instructional coaching to teachers.

This is a regular, renewing teacher contract, plus up to 20 additional paid days to prepare and provide quality professional growth opportunities for staff during the summer and on weekends/evenings.

Qualifications
 
  •    Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree preferred with valid Wisconsin teaching license;
  •    five (5) or more years of successful classroom teaching experience;
  •    experience working in or supporting a 1:1 school or classroom preferred;
  •    coursework, training, and/or demonstrated ability to facilitate the implementation and integration of instructional strategies that utilize technology to promote higher level thinking, problem-solving skills and student ownership for learning;
  •    experience designing and delivering professional development;
  •    ability to work independently; must demonstrate self-motivation;
  •    ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of users, including students, parents, teachers and administrators;
  •    strong oral and written communication skills required;
  •    a valid Wisconsin driver’s license;
  •    alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable based on education, accomplishments and/or related experience.

Essential Skills & Duties

  1. Provide coaching to classroom teachers for newly adopted curriculum, MakerSpace lessons, Rokenbok lessons, the Design and Engineering Process/STEAM, digital citizenship, and other instructional needs.
  2. Provide support to building-based Green Squad teams.
  3. Partner with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment and Director of Student Services to help develop and plan the New Teacher Orientation and provide on-going support to New Teachers.
  4. Partner with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment and appropriate Student Services staff to lead the on-going review, development and improvement of the K-12 Academic and Career Planning (ACP) programming    including the Education for Employment (E4E) plan, Lifelong Learning programming, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming.
  5. Assist the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment and the Director of Student Services with the on-going review, development and improvement of the District’s Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Level System of        Supports (MLSS) programming.
  6. Assist teachers in designing, preparing, implementing, and evaluating lessons using technology effectively for assessing student learning, differentiating instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences for  all students;
  7. Support the Director of Instructional Technology to design, develop, and implement technology-rich professional learning programs that promote digital-age best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment and evaluate the impact   on instructional practice and student learning;
  8. Collaborate with district directors, teachers and administrators to select and evaluate digital tools and resources that enhance teaching and learning and are compatible with the district technology infrastructure;
  9. Partner with district leaders in the implementation of a shared vision for the comprehensive integration of technology to promote excellence and support transformational change throughout the district;
  10. Engage in continual learning to deepen content and pedagogical knowledge in technology integration and current and emerging technologies;
  11. Serves as a role model for students by conducting self as a responsible, intelligent citizen;
  12. Demonstrates a commitment to ethical principles and democratic values in the workplace;
  13. Assume other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of students or employees of organization.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. 
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Position demands meeting deadlines with severe time constraints.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • The employee regularly works indoors and will occasionally work outdoors and must be able to drive a vehicle to different schools to conduct work.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.  At times the noise level in schools can be greater based on the location and nature of the activity.
