Position Summary:
This instructional coachwill serve to guide and lead instructional practices based on best practices, district innovations, and current research. The coach will be responsible for providing staff with resources, instruction, assessment and scaffolding instruction, and staff development to support high-quality instruction, aligning curriculum to promise standards and improving student outcomes.  

Preferred:
Knowledge of exemplary classroom practice and a deep understanding of instructional standards at the middle and upper elementary level.
Understanding of District Innovations including Professional Learning Community, Universal Design for Learning, and Responsive Classroom
Knowledge of best practices within an instructional framework, including whole group, small group, and individualized instruction.
Experience in facilitating a coaching cycle to include job-embedded professional development, pre-planning, observations, and evidence-based feedback.
Possess an understanding of a multi-level system of support and the collective responsibility of educators within this process.
Experience identifying the need for, planning, and implementing targeted professional development
Professional knowledge to adjust coaching practices to meet the unique needs of teaching teams.
Demonstrates proficiency in administering, scoring, evaluating, and interpreting data from benchmark, formative and summative assessments guiding student programming, instruction and/or interventions.

Required:
Bachelor's Degree in education; a minimum of five years teaching experience
Department of Public Instruction Teacher License
At least three credits in instructional coaching, or willingness/ability to complete within one year of hire
Strong leadership and communication skills; exemplary classroom practice and a deep understanding of instructional strategies
Ability to design and deliver training/workshops; leadership abilities demonstrated within the education field
Training or Certification specific to Instructional Coaching
