St. Joseph Catholic Academy, located in Kenosha, WI is looking for a Girls Assistant Tennis Coach. The ideal candidate will have a coaching background/philosophy that fosters both skill/student-athlete development and enjoyable experience while balancing responsibilities for our student-athletes in athletics and in academics/life. Coaching Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach at all practices and matches/tournaments in a way that aligns with the athletic program and President & Athletic Director standards, Catholic Identity of the School and its Mission.

Coaching Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach at all practices and matches/tournaments in a way that aligns with the athletic program and President & Athletic Director standards, Catholic Identity of the School and its Mission.
This position will also assist the coach in the following as needed:
• Hold effective, well-planned practices
• Execute age- and ability-appropriate workouts/training programs
• Foster strong communication with student-athletes, parents, school staff and the athletic director
• Create and maintain an atmosphere where student-athletes want to come back for more.
• Coordinate the distribution, collection, storage of athletic equipment, uniforms, and supplies (during the season and at its conclusion), and for the collection of fees for lost equipment and uniforms by student-athletes
• Assign duties and responsibilities to assistant coaches with the approval of the athletic department
• Assist the athletic director/department in the purchasing of equipment, supplies and uniforms as approved and coordinated with the athletic director
• Supervise student-athletes at all times during school-sponsored activities (at practice, at games, during travel including when not participating in a game, in locker rooms, etc)
• Coordinate the security of all facilities used by the team and coaching staff
• Complete required coaches’ training
• Follows established procedures in the event of a student-athlete’s injury
• Oversee the program fundraising ensuring district policies are met with handling monies
• Must be CPR/AED/First Aid certified or obtain it prior to coaching and share proof of certification with the athletic department
• Complete WIAA Rules Test and Video prior to the season starting
• Submit the following items to the athletic director: completed roster form after the third practice/tryout and complete awards, season records, inventory forms and lost school-issued items program-wide
• Send annual communication to families on the preseason, season and postseason items
• Ensure the proper completion of physical examinations and all registration forms before a student-athlete participates
• Regularly participate and communicate with the Athletic Association and its members/at its meetings
• Participates in special activities to include parents’ night, awards banquets, and pep assemblies
• Assist student-athletes regarding athletic scholarships and next steps after high school
• Abide by and teach the rules of the game in letter and in spirit
• Complete all end-of-season tasks and attending meetings with the WIAA and conference
• Communicate any absences of the coaching staff, including yours as the head coach, to the athletic director
• Other duties assigned by the head coach.
In addition, both the coach and asst coach should have the following characteristics:
• Exemplify the highest moral character, behavior and leadership, adhering to strong ethical and integrity standards
• Demonstrate role modeling and leadership qualities that a student-athlete and others would positively emulate now and in the future
• Respect the integrity and personality of the individual participant
• Demonstrate good sporting behavior
• Respect the integrity and judgment of officials
• Display effective and timely communications skills
• Promote the entire Athletic Program

Weekday availability from the start of practice time (after school) to the end of practice, workouts and/or games; In-season weekend times vary based on practice and/or match/tournament schedules.
