Nutrition Service Staff
Description:
Assists in a variety of job functions in preparing, cooking, and serving food in a high volume, high-speed food production cafeteria.
Job Goals:
To work, effectively and efficiently, as a team and an individual to carry out the responsibilities outlined below.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Maintain standards of sanitation and safety.
* Set up, serving and portioning of food items.
* Operating dishwashers, food dispensers, and other kitchen equipment.
* Preparation, slicing, and set up of food items and materials for meal service.
* Prepare food as determined by menu planner, following standardized recipes and preparation methods to deliver consistent, high quality meals.
* Cleaning and sanitation of food areas, dispensers, and equipment.
* Storage of and rotation of food items.
* Assisting in food production reports, ordering, and other related reports/counts.
* Use and operation of computers and point of sale.
* Read, understand, and follow safety procedures.
* Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public.
* Attend training classes and workshops.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be able to bend and lift from floor to shoulder up to 40 pounds
* Customer relation skills in dealing appropriately with and interacting with children and staff.
* Must be able to stand for several hours.
