Full Time
Edgerton School District is seeking a Bilingual Teacher with the following qualifications:
● Form relationships with parents, children, and co-teachers that are respectful of individual differences, family styles and cultural/socioeconomic diversity
● Collaborate and co-plan with classroom teachers to ensure curriculum and instruction is designed to promote oral language skills and vocabulary development.
● Develop student language plans and support teachers in implementation and monitoring of plans through co-teaching, small group instruction, and differentiated support.
● Complete routine assessments of children’s language development and learning progress.
● Establishes and maintains school-based LIEP bilingual heritage service delivery for multilingual learners including co-teaching at the primary grade levels
● Works in partnership with classroom teachers to incorporate language standards and high leverage instructional strategies compatible with the subject, academic abilities, established curriculum and diverse learning needs of multilingual learners
● Provides professional learning about appropriate language acquisition strategies for students
● Other such qualifications as determined by the Edgerton School District Board of Education
Qualifications for Bilingual Teacher:
• Bilingual teacher license or ESL license with ability to add bilingual certification
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Extensive knowledge of curriculum, EL instructional methods and teaching strategies
• Extensive knowledge of EL laws, policies, procedures, and effective teaching practices
• Working knowledge of technology and instructional applications
