Position Overview:

The Mineral Point Unified School District is seeking a passionate and visionary Elementary Principal (Grades PK–5) to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate is a student-focused, collaborative leader who fosters a positive school culture, builds strong relationships with students, staff, and families, and is committed to academic excellence and whole-child development. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strong instructional leadership focused on high-quality teaching and learning for all students in grades PK–5.

• Collaboratively develop and implement school-wide goals aligned with district initiatives and educational best practices.

• Cultivate a safe, nurturing, and inclusive school culture that promotes student engagement, belonging, and academic success.

• Support and supervise all instructional and support staff, providing regular feedback, coaching, and opportunities for professional growth.

• Use data to inform instructional decisions, monitor student progress, and guide school improvement efforts.

• Communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and the community to build trust, transparency, and partnership.

• Lead efforts to integrate social-emotional learning and equitable practices into the daily life of the school.

• Foster a positive climate that encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Oversee school operations, including safety protocols, scheduling, and compliance with district and state policies.

• Partner with families to strengthen home-school connections and support student achievement and well-being.

Qualifications:

• Valid Wisconsin administrative license (or eligibility for licensure).

• Proven leadership experience in an elementary school setting.

• Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum, and best practices in PK–5 education.

• Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and high expectations.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience as a classroom teacher and/or instructional coach at the elementary level.

• Background in developing collaborative teams and fostering staff leadership.

• Skilled in data-informed decision making and continuous school improvement
