Position Overview:
The Mineral Point Unified School District is seeking a passionate and visionary Elementary Principal (Grades PK–5) to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate is a student-focused, collaborative leader who fosters a positive school culture, builds strong relationships with students, staff, and families, and is committed to academic excellence and whole-child development. We are looking for someone who is innovative, compassionate, and driven to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide strong instructional leadership focused on high-quality teaching and learning for all students in grades PK–5.

Collaboratively develop and implement school-wide goals aligned with district initiatives and educational best practices.

Cultivate a safe, nurturing, and inclusive school culture that promotes student engagement, belonging, and academic success.

Support and supervise all instructional and support staff, providing regular feedback, coaching, and opportunities for professional growth.

Use data to inform instructional decisions, monitor student progress, and guide school improvement efforts.

Communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and the community to build trust, transparency, and partnership.

Lead efforts to integrate social-emotional learning and equitable practices into the daily life of the school.

Foster a positive climate that encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Oversee school operations, including safety protocols, scheduling, and compliance with district and state policies.

Partner with families to strengthen home-school connections and support student achievement and well-being.
Qualifications:
-
Valid Wisconsin administrative license (or eligibility for licensure).

Proven leadership experience in an elementary school setting.

Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum, and best practices in PK–5 education.

Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and high expectations.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Attributes:

Experience as a classroom teacher and/or instructional coach at the elementary level.

Background in developing collaborative teams and fostering staff leadership.

Skilled in data-informed decision making and continuous school improvement
