Position Description: The School District of Altoona is looking for a dynamic leader as the next head coach for the cross country program. Practices typically held Monday through Friday with most competitions on Saturdays with a few exceptions. Expected to attend all practices, competitions, and coaching meetings as directed by the Athletics & Activities Director. The head coach will oversee all aspects of the program, including but not limited to in-season programming, summer contact days, oversight of the coaching staff, equipment management, and fundraising. This position reports to the Director of Athletics & Activities. Expected to follow all WIAA and District policies and be a good role model for kids.
Required Qualifications: Experience coaching cross country or track & field
Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a head coach in cross country or track & field
District Overview: The School District of Altoona serves students in Early Childhood through Grade 12 in Altoona, WI. Altoona is located in west central Wisconsin in the heart of the Chippewa Valley and is currently one of the fastest growing cities in Wisconsin. Contiguous to Eau Claire, Altoona has easy access to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Chippewa Valley Technical College. The School District of Altoona serves a student population of 1,800+ students.
