DESCRIPTION 
The East Troy Community School District (ETCSD) is hiring a Middle School Reading Interventionist beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. This position will be responsible for planing, delivering, and assessing targeted reading intervention for identified students. The successful candidate will possess strong background knowledge, skills, and dispositions that support personalized learning environments by demonstrating the ability to:
  • Design plans/activities through the use of content knowledge, knowledge of appropriate State Standards, an understanding of student needs, and available resources.
  • Analyze assessment results and use data to drive instruction
  • Incorporate RtI and PBIS (Multi-Level Systems of Support) into the culture and learning environment by tracking and interpreting data to evaluate student progress
  • Plan and provide targeted small group and individualized reading instruction for struggling students
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and utilize results to design instruction and identify needs
  • Use a wide variety of questions and activities to challenge students, advance thinking and encourage reflection
  • Select materials and develop strategies to support students in and out of the regular classroom setting
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with classroom teachers and/or other reading staff to coordinate RtI plans and to promote continued student growth
  • Develop and implement practices reflective of the district’s policy on Personalization.
  • Act as a reflective practitioner to consider effectiveness, set goals, and ensure continued professional growth.
  • Regularly seek out and participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Consistently demonstrate honesty, integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Communicate high expectations for ALL students.
  • Develop positive home/school relationships with diverse family structures.
  • Contribute to growing a positive school culture for students, staff, and community.  
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 
Must have the ability to:
  • Sit or stand for prolonged periods and move between seated positions.
  • Perform light physical work, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.
  • Move throughout the building, including in emergency situations.
  • Operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Complete job activities in an environment where background noise and frequent interruptions are the norm.
  • Maintain concentration and focus on tasks requiring timeliness and accuracy.
  • This is an in-person position, primarily in a school setting. Relevant work equipment, such as desks, chairs, computer monitors, etc. are provided to ensure a comfortable workspace.
