Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have experience and training working with students with a variety of special education needs, including academics, functional, behavioral, and social/emotional skills. This position is focused on serving students with Intellectual Disabilities adn Autism, but acceptable license requriemnets include one or more of the following: 

Special education Cross-Categorical #801 and/or
Emotional Behavioral Disability #830 and/or
Specific Learning Disability #811, and/or
Intellectual/Cognitive Disabilities #810

Social Studies*

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Training and experience working with students grades 6-8 with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Other Health Impairments, and/or other disabilities.  

• Strong knowledge of best practices, strategies, and interventions in the areas of Reading, Math, and Written Expression.

• Be able to create and implement programming, strategies, and interventions to assist students with social-emotional, behavioral, functional, and executive functioning needs.  

• Design and delivery of instruction based on the Common Core Essential Elements (Alternative Standards).  

• The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the special education team, regular education staff, parents, and administration.   

• Ability to use evidence-based data, instructional best practices, and frequent monitoring for program adjustments

• Ability to complete due process requirements (IEPs etc) according to state and federal guidelines.
