Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have experience and training working with students with a variety of special education needs, including academics, functional, behavioral, and social/emotional skills. This position is focused on serving students with Intellectual Disabilities adn Autism, but acceptable license requriemnets include one or more of the following:
Special education Cross-Categorical #801 and/or
Emotional Behavioral Disability #830 and/or
Specific Learning Disability #811, and/or
Intellectual/Cognitive Disabilities #810

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training and experience working with students grades 6-8 with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Other Health Impairments, and/or other disabilities.

Strong knowledge of best practices, strategies, and interventions in the areas of Reading, Math, and Written Expression.

Be able to create and implement programming, strategies, and interventions to assist students with social-emotional, behavioral, functional, and executive functioning needs.

Design and delivery of instruction based on the Common Core Essential Elements (Alternative Standards).

The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the special education team, regular education staff, parents, and administration.

Ability to use evidence-based data, instructional best practices, and frequent monitoring for program adjustments

Ability to complete due process requirements (IEPs etc) according to state and federal guidelines.
