The ideal candidate will:

Lead and manage a skilled IT team to ensure efficient operations, responsive support, and continuous improvement.

Facilitate communication and understanding between instructional and technical teams, helping to align classroom needs with system capabilities and support services.

Have a strong understanding of technology in educational settings, including its instructional potential, accessibility considerations, and logistical implementation.

Set a strategic vision for long-term technology planning while staying responsive to day-to-day needs and making thoughtful decisions within the district’s available resources.

Be an effective project manager and communicator, ensuring that initiatives are well-organized, clearly communicated, and aligned with district priorities.

Support professional learning with clear, timely, and differentiated training, helping staff make meaningful use of current and emerging tools.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and oversight for all district technology operations, including infrastructure, devices, cybersecurity, software systems, and help desk support.

Supervise and support the technology department staff, fostering a responsive, collaborative, and service-oriented culture.

Lead the development and implementation of the district’s long-range technology plan in alignment with strategic priorities and instructional goals.

Collaborate with school and district leaders to identify technology needs, improve instructional integration, and support teaching and learning across all grade levels.

Communicate clearly and regularly with staff and administrators about system updates, changes, initiatives, and technology-related impacts.

Coordinate and manage technology-related projects, including device refresh cycles, new software rollouts, and infrastructure upgrades.

Develop and manage the technology budget, including local funding, grants, and E-Rate, with transparency and alignment to district goals.

Ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of network systems, data security, and digital privacy practices.

Support and help lead staff professional development related to technology tools, systems, instructional integration, and district platforms.

Establish and maintain systems for timely communication and support, including policies for emergency tech support, maintenance, and staff training.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in educational technology, instructional leadership, information systems, or a related field.

Demonstrated success leading technology initiatives and managing technical teams in a K–12 school environment.

Strong understanding of how technology supports teaching, learning, assessment, and student engagement.

Familiarity with district-level technology infrastructure, including networking, cybersecurity, SIS platforms (e.g., Skyward), Google Workspace Admin tools, device management, and digital equity/access strategies.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
-
Ability to develop and deliver effective professional development and support systems for a wide range of staff roles.

Experience in collaborative leadership, strategic planning, and working across departments to solve problems and implement solutions.
-
Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL) preferred, or willingness to pursue certification.
