POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The School District of Greenfield, located in Milwaukee County, is seeking a Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher to be part of a dynamic staff at Glenwood Elementary School. Our ideal candidate is someone who possesses a strong desire to lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth and maturation.
CANDIDATE DESCRIPTION:
*Possess a valid Wisconsin teaching license for Special Education, with a focus on providing services for a cross categorical student population.
*Performs complex professional work, providing services to students in general instruction or in a specialized subject or assigned group of subjects.
*Continuously reflect on current practices, looking for next steps and opportunities to enhance student learning.
*Develop genuine connections with students by recognizing their unique needs; and highlighting varied ability in academic and behavioral skill, vocational skill, cognitive ability, and level of independence.
*Challenge and stretch student thinking, encouraging an excitement for learning by instilling a sense of ownership and independence in students.
*Utilize a variety of assessment methods to obtain accurate evidence of student learning and growth.
*Be effective in co-teaching, including a positive, collaborative, problem solving and student-centered mindset.
*Desire to work with colleagues in a professional learning community setting to ensure the needs of all students are met.
*Design, develop and deliver student-centered lessons utilizing a broad range of effective, personalized techniques and strategies.
