SUMMARY
Prescott High School is seeking an innovative English Language Arts (ELA) educator who can work collaboratively with colleagues, develop positive relationships with students and parents, and build partnerships with the community. This position requires a dynamic and progressive teacher who has a strong background in the English Language Arts State Standards and possesses Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction certification (#1300, #2300) or equivalent certification that allows them to teach high school english/language arts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TYPICAL TASKS
The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following:

Knowledge of current practices and methodologies in the teaching of English Language Arts.

Knowledge and ability to teach students with special needs.

Strong technology background and ability to teach students using technology is desirable.

Ability to instruct a variety of courses from introductory courses to advanced level courses.

Willingness to collaborate in a professional learning community.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will develop and implement a variety of interesting and motivating activities, display strong leadership skills, utilize exemplary classroom management skills, demonstrate excellent oral and written communication abilities, have experience and knowledge of best practices and strong interpersonal skills. In addition, the candidate must display strong organizational skills, have a working knowledge of the tenets of a professional learning community, demonstrate a familiarity with the Common Core standards and standards-based grading practices.
