St. Matthew Catholic School is excited to offer a 3K Aide position to support our newly launched 3K program. We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual to assist in the daily operation of our classroom, working closely with our 3K teacher to support the academic, emotional, and developmental needs of our youngest learners. This position is an important part of the 3K experience and offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young children.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the 3K Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.

• Support the teacher in following the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS) to guide instruction and ensure children’s growth and development.

• Provide individualized support to students as needed, including helping with learning activities, classroom routines, and transitions.

• Assist with classroom management, ensuring a safe, positive, and engaging environment.

• Support faith-based activities, such as prayer, Bible stories, and Catholic traditions.

• Help supervise children during lunchtime, recess, and other non-instructional times.

• If interested in only part time, morning/afternoon shift, Watch children in the before and after-school care program as needed, supporting their care, engagement, and safety. See details in Schedule section below.

• Work as a team member with the teacher to meet the needs of the classroom.

Schedule:

• Full-Time Option: 8:00 am – 3:45 pm (Monday through Friday)

• Part-Time Options (with extended care responsibilities):

  • Morning Shift: 6:15 am – 12:15 pm

  • Afternoon Shift: 12:00 pm – 5:30 pm (or earlier if students are picked up earlier from Extended Care)

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree, Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.

• Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting, especially preschool or early childhood education.

• Ability to follow instructions and work closely with the 3K Teacher to meet the needs of the students.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Knowledge of child development and best practices for early childhood education is a plus.
