Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have experience and training working with students with a variety of special education needs, including academics, behavioral, and social/emotional skills.

License requirements include one or more of the following:
Special education Cross-Categorical #801 and/or
Emotional Behavioral Disability #830 and/or
Specific Learning Disability #811, and/or
Intellectual/Cognitive Disabilities #810

*Emergency Licensure may be considered depending on the applicant pool.

 
Job Title: Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher
Building: Prescott High School
License Requirement: 801, 830, 811 and/or 810
Start Date: August 2025

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Ability to create, enhance, and deliver services for special education students in need of unique or alternative programming to support academic, social emotional, or behavioral functioning.
*Training and experience working with students grades 9-12 with Learning Disabilities, Other Health Impairments, Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities, and/or other disabilities.
*A strong knowledge of best practices, strategies, and interventions in the areas of Reading, Math, and Written Expression.
*Work with students on the transition from High School to post high school education or employment opportunities.
*The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the special education team, regular education staff, parents, and administration.
*Ability to use evidence based data, instructional best practices, and frequent monitoring for program adjustments
*Ability to complete due process requirements (IEPs etc) according to state and federal guidelines.
