Are you looking to join a school district that believes all students can learn at high levels?  Are you looking to work with colleagues who support one another in a positive and collaborative setting?  The Northland Pines School District is what you are looking for!  We are looking for an innovative speech-language pathologist (SLP) who is eager to be part of a collaborative professional learning community. This SLP will evaluate, develop programming, and implement evidence-based interventions to support students with speech, language, and communication needs that impact their access to, engagement with, and progress in the general education curriculum. With a strong focus on helping students achieve grade-level academic standards and meet the functional expectations of the school environment, the SLP will work collaboratively with general education teachers, special education teachers, families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to design and deliver individualized programming. Through integrated service delivery, data-informed decision-making, and ongoing professional learning, the SLP will foster meaningful participation and success for students across academic and social contexts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (#1820) or eligibility to obtain.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with IEP team members, including general education teachers, related service providers, and families, to design and implement effective programming that promotes student growth
  • Experience supporting students with diverse disability-related needs, including those related to autism, speech-language impairments, emotional-behavioral regulation, and specific learning disabilities
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and reflective practice through engagement in ongoing professional development
  • Ability to align communication interventions with grade-level academic content and functional expectations, promoting access, engagement, and progress
  • Knowledge of Wisconsin’s CCR IEP 5-Step Process
  • Understanding of UDL, inclusive practices, and MLSS to reduce barriers and enhance student outcomes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement IEPs aligned with Wisconsin’s 5-Step IEP Process
  • Deliver specially designed instruction and evidence-based interventions in inclusive, small-group, and individual settings to support students’ speech, language, and communication needs across academic and social environments
  • Collaborate with educators, service providers, and families to ensure aligned instruction and coordinated implementation of accommodations, supports, and BIPs tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Support inclusive practices like co-teaching, collaborative planning, and Responsive Classroom; design UDL-aligned communication supports to remove learning barriers.
  • Use assessment data to guide instruction, monitor IEP goal progress, and adjust services to ensure meaningful student growth.
  • Implement positive behavior supports and communication strategies to promote self-regulation, problem-solving, and functional communication.
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, Medicaid (if applicable), and district policies through accurate documentation and timely communication with IEP teams.
