The School District of Waupaca is looking for a talented secretary to support the efficient and effective operation of the Waupaca Learning Center (WLC). This position serves as the Office Manager and a key partner to the WLC Administrative Team—functioning as a “right-hand support” in both daily operations and strategic initiatives. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating creative thinking, visionary leadership, and the ability to anticipate challenges before they arise. Strong communication skills, collaborative spirit, and the capacity to delegate effectively are essential. This position is a 260 day contract. A high school diploma is required. Google suite experience is preferred.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Promote a positive image of the District at all times
  2. Engage with the community to develop a sense of context and an understanding of its history.
  3. Greet and direct visitors in a kind and professional manner
  4. Take initiative to complete tasks independently
  5. Be an effective communicator and assist with daily building communications
  6. Administrative assistant to the WLC Administrators.
  7. General office duties (sort mail, make copies, manage purchase orders, collect fees, record keeping, mailings, room scheduling, maintain student files, multi-line phone system, monitor cameras, create or proofread a variety of documents) 
  8. Attendance tracking and scheduling students in Infinite Campus.
  9. Prepare correspondence and forms/attendance reports
  10.  Update information to maintain current data on students and staff
  11.  Maintain staff attendance/substitutes 
  12.  Manage school activities/field trips using Google Calendar 
  13.  Knowledge of office machinery, photocopying, typing, laminating, etc.
  14.  Support District Administrative Team with posting school board and Governance Council meeting agendas 
  15.  Maintain flexibility, as each day is different, and also with your work schedule.
  16.  Assist WLC Staff as necessary.
  17.  Respond to many other day-to-day inquiries, both internal and external.
  18.  Maintain confidentiality and loyalty to the employer.
  19.  Other duties as assigned
General working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; however, this person may be required to attend some evening events beginning at 5:30pm.The District offers a competitive starting wage, based on experience, with full benefits.

  1. High School Diploma, Associate and/or Bachelor’s degree in related areas of concern.
