Westosha Central High School is looking for caring, committed individuals to join our team as a Special Education Teaching Aide. As a teaching aide, you'll work in a variety of classroom settings, providing individualized and small group support under the guidance of our special education staff. Current Openings:
Position #1
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching aide to support students with higher levels of need in a variety of educational settings. This position involves working closely with students who are non-verbal and those who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices to express their needs and wants.
Responsibilities include providing both one-on-one and small group support, under the direction of the classroom teacher and special education teacher. The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable, and eager to support students in developing their communication and daily living skills.
Position #2
We are looking for a supportive and empathetic teaching aide to work with students who require assistance with behavior regulation and management. This role involves working across various settings, offering both one-on-one and small group support to help students develop appropriate behavioral and social-emotional skills.
The teaching aide will collaborate closely with the special education teacher and follow their guidance to implement individualized strategies and support plans. This position is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, proactive, and passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives.

Qualifications:
Special Education Program Aide (883) or eligible to obtain this license; preference given to applicants who have experience working with students as well as those who have been trained to work with students with disabilities.
Work Hours:
7:15am-3:00pm on days that school is in session
Hourly Wage will be based on experience; the selected candidate will also be offered a competitive insurance benefit package.
