Position: Special Education Teacher (Full-Time)
Location: Williams Bay High School/Middle School | Williams Bay School District, Wisconsin

We are seeking a highly qualified, passionate, and collaborative Special Education Teacher to join our outstanding team of educators at Williams Bay High School/Middle School. This is a full-time position dedicated to empowering students with diverse learning needs and creating inclusive, engaging, and supportive educational environments.

Qualifications
-
Hold a valid Wisconsin DPI license in one or more of the following areas:
-
Cross-Categorical (801)
-
Learning Disabilities (811)
-
Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (810, 806)
-
Have demonstrated success in working with students with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional Behavioral Disabilities, and Other Health Impairments.

Be skilled in, or willing to learn, collaborative teaching, co-planning, and data-informed decision-making.
-
Be competent in behavior management and conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
-
Be able to establish and retain high performing relationships with students, staff members and the families they serve.
Responsibilities

While the full scope of this role is deeply personal and wide-reaching, we've outlined some key responsibilities below:
The Special Education Teacher will:

Provide individualized instruction and support in both inclusive (co-plan/co-serve) and resource settings, delivering a continuum of services tailored to diverse student needs.

Collaborate closely with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and ensure students have meaningful access to grade-level content.

Lead the creation, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring alignment with student goals and needs.

Apply evidence-based interventions across academic areas, including literacy, math, and writing.

Track and analyze student progress using data to inform instruction and intervention strategies.

Serve as a trusted connection between school, families, and community partners to support the whole child.

Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal special education requirements through accurate documentation and reporting.

Create and maintain a building and classroom culture that is safe, respectful, inclusive, and supportive of every learner.
