Full Time

Tigerton Elementary School is currently seeking an Early Childhoold – Elementary (Grade 5) Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role focuses on implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), fostering inclusive learning environments, and collaborating with families, general education teachers, and support staff to help all students reach their academic, social, and emotional potential.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Student Support

  • Provide specialized instruction to students in 4K through grade 5 with identified disabilities.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned with state standards and student needs.

  • Use evidence-based instructional strategies and differentiated teaching methods.

  • Support students in inclusive, small-group, and/or self-contained settings as appropriate.

  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data and observations.

Assessment & Compliance

  • Conduct and contribute to academic, behavioral, and functional assessments.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress reviews.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrators to support student success.

  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, goals, and strategies.

  • Provide guidance and support to paraprofessionals working with special education students.

Classroom Environment

  • Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse needs.

  • Implement positive behavior supports and social-emotional learning strategies.

  • Adapt materials, curriculum, and assessments as needed.

Required Certification: Certified WI DPI #1809 (Early Childhood Special Education) and #1801 (Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher)
