Position Overview:
Herrman Elementary School is seeking a passionate, experienced, and student-centered Student Success Coach to join our team. The successful candidate will support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students by working collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. This position plays a key role in building staff capacity and providing direct support through coaching, modeling, and professional development aligned with our Multilevel System of Supports (MLSS).
Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level

Demonstrated success in building strong relationships with students, families, colleagues, and administrators

Expertise in implementing school-wide behavior supports including:
-
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
-
Response to Intervention (RtI)
-
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) using Characterstrong
-
Responsive Classroom (RC)
-
Restorative practices
-
Trauma-Informed Practices
-
Neurosequential Model in Education (NME)
-
Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
-
Experience on a Building Leadership Team, PBIS Team, and Student Management Team
-
Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification
-
Experience in conducting behavioral observations and interviews to determine root causes of behavior
Essential Functions:
-
Provide social, emotional, and behavioral support aligned with evidence-based SEL practices
-
Consult with teachers to remove academic barriers and improve student access to instruction
-
Serve on the building response team for behavior crises using Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention techniques
-
Build staff capacity in de-escalation techniques such as verbal redirection, audience removal, break strategies, and emotional processing
-
Ensure behavioral expectations are explicitly taught, reinforced, and monitored consistently across the school through PBIS, SEL, and RC
-
Support teachers with behavioral strategies and classroom management through in-class modeling and coaching
-
Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., school counselors, psychologists, families, community providers) to deliver wrap-around supports
-
Lead or assist in developing Tier III behavioral supports including:
-
Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)
-
Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
Crisis Response Plans -
Track and analyze behavior data for students requiring progress monitoring
-
Develop and deliver professional development on:
-
Behavior management
-
Progress monitoring
-
Social skills instruction
-
Provide or support the delivery of targeted social skills lessons to individual students, small groups, or classrooms
-
Network with other behavior support professionals and PBIS coaches to ensure alignment of district-wide services
-
Perform other duties as assigned
