Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 9th–12th Grade Social Studies Teacher (the current position focuses primarily on 9th and 10th grade social studies) to join our outstanding team of educators. The ideal candidate will ignite curiosity about history, civics, geography, and the social sciences while fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment. We are looking for someone who values student-centered learning, builds strong relationships, and contributes positively to our school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Social Studies curriculum aligned with state and national standards.

  • Design and facilitate dynamic lessons that encourage historical thinking, civic engagement, research, and analysis of current events.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including project-based learning and Socratic seminars, to support diverse learning needs.

  • Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued and challenged.

  • Build strong relationships with students to support both academic growth and personal development.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular connections and promote interdisciplinary learning experiences.

  • Assess student understanding using a variety of formative and summative assessments and provide timely, meaningful feedback.

  • Integrate technology and innovative practices to enhance instruction and student engagement.

  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to a collaborative, growth-minded team.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated classroom management skills appropriate for high school learners.

  • Passion for teaching Social Studies and helping students develop as informed, thoughtful citizens.
