Under the direction of the Berlin Area School District (BASD) High School Athletic Director, Berlin High School is looking for Cheer and Stunt Advisor. The ideal candidates must possess knowledge of cheer and stunt and be an excellent communicator with our student-athletes, parents, community and youth groups. Requirements will be to hold practices during the week and attend football games, both home and away.

Clay Lamberton Elementary (4K-5), Berlin Middle School (6-8), and Berlin High School (9-12) sit on the same campus and serve as a hub of activity for the greater Berlin community. The Berlin Area School District is composed of 14 municipalities, with the City of Berlin at the center.  Berlin is a rural community with a population of 5,500 located approximately 20 minutes west of Oshkosh and 10 minutes north of Green Lake. The Fox River runs through the center of the historic Victorian downtown. Agriculture, health services, light industry and retail shops comprise Berlin’s economy.

This position will have the following responsibilities, tasks, and duties:

  • Facilitation of the cheer and stunt program, which establishes a presence in the school and community.

  • Support multi-sport athletes.

  • Plan and implement the teaching of fundamentals and proper conditioning in the assigned sport.

  • A student-centered approach, which includes flexibility, is required.

  • Cooperate with the administration, fellow coaches, advisors and students to promote the best interests of the entire extracurricular program.

  • Provide for the safety of participants by inspecting facilities and equipment.

  • Ensure that adequate supervision is provided for all students involved in the program, including locker rooms and buses.

  • Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team.

  • Assume responsibility for conduct of participants involved.

  • Implement appropriate procedures for handling injury situations; ensure the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards at all times.

  • Communicate to all participants the policies of the team, local school, and School Board relating to school-sponsored activities.

  • Be responsible for public relations and publicity for the assigned program.

  • Establish procedures for communicating with parents/guardians.

  • Compile and maintain accurate individual and team performances.

  • Participate in awards program(s) according to school procedure.

  • Enforce all rules of league and state associations.

  • Self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision.

  • Follow all other guidelines in the Berlin Area School District’s staff handbook

Other: Fall 2025. This position requires a flexible schedule with some longer work weeks and irregular hours including early AM, PM, and weekends.
