Duties of the Position:

This leadership role is vital to fostering a supportive, high-performing learning environment at Herrman Elementary School. The position requires collaboration with staff, administration, students, families, and community members to strengthen both the school and the broader Sparta Area School District.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and maintain a positive school culture and climate that supports student learning and well-being.

  • Use data-driven decision-making to inform and implement school improvement strategies.

  • Monitor and support student achievement, behavior, and attendance to ensure success for all learners.

  • Supervision and evaluation of staff.

  • Provide effective supervision and support for instructional and non-instructional staff.

  • Lead and assist in professional development initiatives aligned with school and district goals.

  • Support and implement key district frameworks, including MLSS (Multi-Level Systems of Support), PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), and SEL (Social and Emotional Learning).

  • Foster collaboration and build positive relationships among students, staff, families, and community partners.

Special Skills Required: Organization, communication, collaboration, and teamwork. 

Required license Number: Must be certified or eligible to be certified for a principal; WI DPI License #5051

Work Schedule of the Position: 220 day contract; 8 hours/day with possible evening hours
