Full Time
The Director of Facilities will oversee all aspects of facility operations within the school district. They are responsible for managing maintenance, grounds, facilities and ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment. This role also requires effectively supervising staff, developing department plans, managing budgets, and overseeing construction projects to optimize facility performance and reduce costs. This is a 12 month position with an expected start date of July 1, 2025. Competitive salary commensurate with experience and full benefit package.

Essential Functions Qualifications:
Facilities Management and Operations: 
  • Lead and manage all aspects of facility operations, including maintenance, grounds, space planning, environmental health, rentals, and safety, custodial staff supervision and evaluation.

  • Oversee contracted cleaning services and manage seasonal staff, monitor the facility to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and building systems.

  • Prepare and review operational reports and schedules.

Department Planning and Budget Management
  • Develop and implement department plans to optimize facility performance, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.

  • Plan, administer, and control budgets for contracts, equipment, and supplies.

  • Set goals and deadlines for the department

Project Management and Supervision
  • Oversee capital projects, maintaining budget and timelines.

  • Oversee construction and renovation projects to improve efficiency and meet standards.

  • Participate in architectural and engineering planning and design.

Vendor Management and Regulatory Compliance
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality service delivery.

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Serve as a member of the school district Safety Committee

  • Oversee additional district facilities-related areas: Furniture purchasing, Fleet management, Facility rentals, Energy management, Telephone services, Event set up, Physical security systems (camera, card access, intrusion) for buildings.


Experience in or knowledge of:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field. 

  • Licensure: Valid driver’s license

  • Certificates, Certifications, or Other Training: Facility Manager or Building Operator Certification, Training in Facilities Maintenance and Employee Safety

  • Previous Work-Related Experience: 4-6 years of work-related experience.

Preferred:

  • Licensure: Engineering or Journeyman License
