Duties of the Position:

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join our dedicated team of professionals at Herrman Elementary in the Sparta Area School District. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and student-centered teacher who builds strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families to support academic and social-emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, standards-based instruction aligned to Wisconsin Academic Standards and Wisconsin Act 20.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of learners, including Differentiated Instruction and technology integration.

  • Use RtI (Response to Intervention) practices to support academic and behavioral needs, including progress monitoring and tiered interventions.

  • Implement and support school-wide initiatives such as PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), SEL (Social and Emotional Learning), and MLSS (Multi-Level Systems of Support).

  • Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and inform educational decisions.

  • Collaborate with colleagues through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to analyze student data, plan instruction, and implement best practices.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student ownership of learning.

  • Establish and maintain positive communication with parents/guardians to support student success.

Special Skills Required: 

  • Knowledge and experience with RtI, Differentiated Instruction, technology integration, and assessment-driven instruction.

  • Understanding of and commitment to PBIS, SEL, MLSS, and PLC frameworks.

  • Familiarity with the requirements and instructional shifts under Wisconsin Act 20, including early literacy assessment and intervention practices.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Required license Number: Wisconsin DPI licensure 1777 Regular Education - Early Childhood to Middle Childhood or Middle Childhood to Early Adolescence

 

School Year-190 Contracted days
