The School District of Rhinelander has an opening for a 6 grade teacher with a focus on teaching English or a combination of English and Social Studies at the middle school level starting for the 2025-2026 school year.

Our District is actively working towards target based grading and we continue to invest in the development and execution of professional learning communities (PLCs). QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in the area of employment.
A valid teacher's license (certificate) issued by Teacher Certification, Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
Demonstrated ability to work with groups and individuals, skill in organizing ideas and presenting them with clarity and conciseness, creative and imaginative approach to problem-solving, ability to make sound decisions and withstand pressures, and an understanding of child development.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Engage students through instructional best practices
• Incorporate differentiated instructional strategies into lesson planning and delivery
* Collaborate effectively within a Professional Learning Community
• Collaborate with 6-12 ELA department colleagues
• Develop, implement and analyze common assessments to inform instruction
• Develop and build positive relationships(Be a Champion for our students)
• Incorporate Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) into daily lessons
• Remain current and utilize evidence based best practices
• Integration of technology and understanding of ITL standards
• Uphold JWMS mission, vision and staff commitments
*Practice and promote community building, restorative practices, and character education
*Positive teacher leader
*Reflective Practitioner
*Effective classroom engagement/management practices
Additional Preferable Qualifications Include the Knowledge, Use and Application of:
*Participation in co-curricular activities
• The Wisconsin Teacher Professional Development Standards
• Ability to develop summative assessment aligned CCSS
* Educator Effectiveness-Danielson Framework
* Fastbridge Assessment
*UDL (Universal Design for Learning Framework)
