Program Support Teacher Position Summary

The Program Support Teacher is responsible for supporting students PK through 8 and staff in various roles throughout the school day. This position is vital in helping maintain a positive, safe, and structured school environment. The Program Support Teacher will rotate through areas such as recess supervision, lunchroom support, hallway monitoring, classroom support, and office assistance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Team teaching to support Direct Instruction reading and math groups.

  • Working with small groups or individuals on an as needed basis for Kindergarten-8th grade students

  • Being a in-house substitute teacher for any PK-8 classroom as needed   

  • Supporting classroom teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks such as helping grade, preparing materials, organizing supplies, or assisting with classroom management

  • Communicating clearly and consistently with students and staff regarding expectations, school values, routines, and whenever there are changes to your schedules/routines.

  • Maintaining a positive, respectful, and caring presence throughout the school

  • Assisting with school-wide events, assemblies, and Core Virtue presentations as needed

  • Supporting student behavior plans, 504 plans, IEPs, or interventions as directed by staff/administration

  • Completing other school-related duties as assigned by administration

The successful candidate will have:

  • Certified Wisconsin teaching degree  

  • A strong ability to develop positive relationships with children, staff, and families

  • Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive attitude

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Confidence in managing student behavior and reinforcing expectations

  • A positive, team-oriented mindset and willingness to take initiative

  • A belief in the mission of Lake Country Academy and a commitment to supporting students in all settings

  • An eagerness to grow professionally and accept feedback constructively

General Information

This position is for the 2025-26 school year and will start in mid-August.
