Position Details
- WI DPI License 1902, 2902 or 5091, or ability to obtain
- Demonstrate an understanding of best practices of school library collection development and programming
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to evaluate and select appropriate digital and print materials to enhance teaching and learning and support a variety of levels and interests
- Oversee and utilize the Common School Fund allocations in accordance with state guidelines
- Curate, track, and monitor resources
- Create a welcoming and accessible library space for all staff, students, and families
- Work independently to organize and prioritize work, respond to varied and changing work demands, and make decisions as required
- Direct and supervise the work of library assistants
- Communicate with students, staff, parents, and community partners to create awareness and promote the library and available resources
- Plan and deliver library lessons for elementary-aged students
- Develop and implement practices reflective of the district’s policy on personalization
- Act as a reflective practitioner to consider effectiveness, set goals, and ensure continued professional growth
- Regularly seek out and participate in professional development opportunities
- Consistently demonstrate honesty, integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
- Communicate high expectations for ALL students
- Develop positive home/school relationships with diverse family structures
- Contribute to growing a positive school culture for students, staff, and community
- Sit or stand for prolonged periods and move between seated positions.
- Perform light physical work, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.
- Move throughout the building, including in emergency situations.
- Operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.
- Complete job activities in an environment where background noise and frequent interruptions are the norm.
- Maintain concentration and focus on tasks requiring timeliness and accuracy.
