Position Details
Reports to: Director of Information & Technology Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
JOB GOAL: The Student Data and Information Specialist is part of the Technology team and manages the day-to-day maintenance and end-user support of our student information system, Skyward. This position will support the district's data management, ensuring its accuracy and optimal utilization. This position will work closely with our building administrative assistants and building end-users to support professional development and learning needs related to Skyward.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Manage, support, and maintain the Student Information System (SIS), including Family Access.
2. Establishes, develops, maintains, and updates databases and systems to meet various District data and reporting needs, requests, and requirements.
3. Functions as the product owner and in-house expert concerning the use of Skyward Student Information System, including building and maintaining system processes, procedures, accuracy, robustness, completeness, and security.
4. Assists in the coordination and accurate compilation and submission of required data in the student information system (Skyward) for the DPI for WISEData, state, and federal reporting.
5. Compares data, identifies errors and discrepancies, makes corrections, additions, and modifications as needed, and guides other teams to maintain data integrity.
Training:
1.Works closely with building administrative assistants to coordinate and support the appropriate use of the SIS, including data mining and creating processing lists.
2. Assists in coordinating and providing support and training for all users of the student information system.
3. Analyze and make corrections to ensure the exchange of data between various software applications is accurate and seamless.
4. Assists with coordinating various student data systems (Special Education, Software, etc.).
5. Assist in creating and maintaining training documentation.
6. Engage in professional development to stay current with best practices and disseminate relevant information to stakeholders.
7. Collaborate with users to determine learning needs related to SIS.
8. Provide support to parents, staff, and students, addressing issues related to devices and access. 9. Supports the Information & Technology Department as needed.
Specific Skyward Tasks:
1. Assist all stakeholders in accessing and supporting, including the creation of users and assigning security permissions.
2. Facilitate setting up the start-of-year tasks: Gradebook, Calendars, and Attendance.
3. Assist with registration (set-up, new and returning students), as well as student withdrawals.
4. Facilitate conference set-up and reporting.
5. Year-end tasks, scheduling, and facilitating the year-end district roll-over.
6. Works in conjunction with the Director of Finance and the District Accountant to facilitate the student and pupil count totals for the district on the third Friday.
7. Support Food Service with Skyward access and utilities.
8. Assist in the potential migration to a new SIS (Infinite Campus).
Required Skills & Abilities
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in Skyward student information system, database, spreadsheet knowledge, and Google Workspace.
2. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to various audiences. Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals.
3. Organizational & Time Management Skills: Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks, including balancing one-time projects with ongoing responsibilities while handling interruptions.
4. Ability to anticipate administrative needs and proactively address them.
5. Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze situations, identify problems, and develop effective solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Bachelor's degree (preferred)
