Meyer Middle School is seeking a dynamic Special Education Teacher with a passion for inspiring and encouraging ALL students to reach their potential through hard work and character. Candidates must be able to create a positive and safe learning environment by first having the skills to build meaningful connections with students and also by providing individualized or small group specialized academic instruction. Applicants must also be able to model and promote the positive character traits we expect to see in our students, including a strong work ethic, positive attitude, perseverance, growth mindset, collaborative and compassionate toward the needs of others. Further, we are seeking candidates with strong communication and organizational skills and a willingness/ability to work with various branches of special education.

Candidates must have or be eligible for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching license in intellectual disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with intellectual disabilities.

The top candidate will be offered a competitive salary. The position is eligible for a strong benefits package that includes health, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance, as well as, paid leave and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System. The position begins on August 19, 2025.
