The Director of Technology is a forward-thinking, strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing the vision for technology across the District. This individual will oversee all aspects of information technology, ensuring systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with the District’s instructional and operational goals. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to supporting equitable access to technology for all students and staff.
 
  1. Associate degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

  2. Certified through the CoSN Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) program, preferred.

  3. Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in IT, preferably in an educational or public-sector setting.

  4. Proven experience in project management, budgeting, and vendor relations.

  5. In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and student data privacy laws (e.g., FERPA, COPPA)

  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  7. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and provide professional development to non-technical staff.

  8. Experience developing and executing long-range technology plans.

  9. Ability to work collaboratively with district leadership, educators, and community stakeholders.

  10. Valid driver’s license.

 
  • Oversee and manage the Districts IT budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and fiscal responsibility.

  • Fulfill Public Open Records requests in compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Lead efforts in cybersecurity and student data privacy, maintaining a secure and compliant digital ecosystem.

  • Plan, execute, and oversee all District-wide technology projects, from inception to completion.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with IT vendors, including procurement, contracts, and service evaluations.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, processes, and policies.

  • Develop and implement training programs to support staff and faculty in the effective use of technology.

  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Manage eRate applications and projects to maximize available funding opportunities.

  • Implement, maintain, and provide strategic guidance on the District’s Long Range Technology Plan

 
This position will directly supervise all Information Technology (IT) personnel.
