Altoona Elementary School is seeking a full-time Special Education teacher with a start date of August 18, 2025.
At Altoona Elementary School, we believe every child is capable of learning and achieving at high levels. Our team is passionate about empowering students through creativity, critical thinking, and a sense of belonging.
We are seeking a dynamic Special Education Teacher who is deeply committed to nurturing the academic, social, and emotional potential in every student. The ideal candidate fosters an inclusive classroom where diverse perspectives are celebrated, and all learners feel a strong sense of belonging and ownership in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
*Collaborate with general education teachers to develop lesson plans, adapt materials, and choose appropriate co-teaching service delivery models for specific students.
*Identify and adapt instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students in the classroom.
*Monitor student progress, analyze data, and make adjustments to instruction as needed.
*Collaborate on assessments, including both formal and informal methods, to monitor student progress and ensure all students are meeting learning goals.
*Ensure that IEPs are implemented effectively, including providing specially designed instruction, monitoring progress, collaborating with General Education teachers and communicating with parents.
*Help promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
Qualifications:
*Valid Special Education teaching license
*Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
*Passion for cultivating a classroom where all learners feel they belong and can thrive
