New Lisbon School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to lead a classroom/program designed for neurodiverse students with developmental disabilities, including students with autism, intellectual disabilities or behavioral disorders. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, implement behavior intervention strategies, and create a structured, supportive learning environment in collaboration with a dedicated team of professionals and paraprofessionals.

- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' unique learning and behavioral needs.
- Utilize evidence-based strategies, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), structured teaching, and sensory integration techniques.
- Create a structured, predictable classroom environment that fosters engagement, communication, and positive behavior.
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student growth and success.
- Implement data-driven decision-making for academic and behavioral interventions.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, behavioral incidents, and communication with stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Wisconsin teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioral needs in a self-contained setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques, functional behavior assessments (FBAs), and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- CPI or similar crisis intervention training (preferred or required based on district policy).
District Description: The School District of New Lisbon is an Early Childhood - Grade 12 district located all in one building, with a total population of 550 students.
