Full Time
The Prescott School District is seeking an individual for fulltime 2nd shift custodian. Hours are M-F 2:30 pm-11:00 pm.
Job Summary: The Custodian is responsible for performing janitorial and custodial duties, minor maintenance, and other duties as assigned in order to ensure that school buildings and grounds are maintained in a safe and sanitary manner. While also ensuring a nice appearance.
Responsibilities:
Sweeps, mops and waxes floors; washes walls and windows, dusts and performs other cleaning duties.
Clean and sanitize restrooms floors, toilets, toilet seats, urinals, mirror, hand sinks and fixtures daily.
Replenish toilet tissue, towels, and soap as needed.
Sweep or Vacuum classrooms and offices floors daily.
Empty all waste baskets and garbage cans daily.
Perform grounds maintenance to include mowing, trimming, raking, and picking trash on grounds as needed.
Perform snow ice removal as needed from sidewalks, steps, and other outside surfaces.
Make sure that building is secure.
Make sure all exit doors are operating properly.
Performs monthly checks of fire extinguishers, exit lights and emergency lighting.
Cleans all corridors/hallways after school days daily and during school days when conditions require.
Keep all hard surface floors in good condition and appearance, by scrubbing and/or stripping wax from surface, and applying new wax to surface at least once yearly or more often if possible.
Extract and/or shampoo clean carpet floors yearly or more often if needed.
Clean whiteboards in classrooms as needed.
Make minor building and equipment repairs, report all major repairs promptly to supervisor.
Be held responsible for all hand tools, supplies, keys, janitorial equipment and other movable property stored and/or used in the buildings.
Report any damage to equipment, buildings, and property to the principal or supervisor.
Be on duty in the building when events (concerts, plays, etc.,) and athletic events are participating during school hours and/or after school hours. If requested by the principal, athletic director or supervisor.
Set up a gymnasium for volleyball, basketball games, and etc. Sweep the gym floor during halftime of athletic events.
Clean and sanitize locker rooms and locker restrooms before and after athletic events.
Set up for board meetings, events, and community events as directed by principal, athletic director, and/or supervisor
Responsible for the opening and closing of the building daily. Before leaving, all windows and doors are secure. All lights are off except for emergency/security lighting. Set the alarm as required.
Clean cafeteria daily.
Move equipment or furniture within and/or between buildings as requested by the principal, athletic director and /or supervisor.
Be able to move and lift equipment, furniture, supplies and custodial cleaning equipment in excess of 60 pounds.
Perform intensive and extensive cleaning programs during the summer months. As directed by lead custodian and/or supervisor.
Be professional and cooperative with students, other custodians and school employees.
Perform other duties as directed or assigned by supervisor.
