Duties of the Position:

This position will assist Herrman Elementary and the principal with day-to-day operations of the school:

  • Responsibilities indicated in the Secretary II job description.

    • Receive and route incoming calls and postal mail

    • Greet and assist visitors and staff in need of information

    • Collect fees and make deposits

  • Serve as the Finance Secretary 

  • Assist in preparing budgets and maintaining records of the budget and corresponding purchases throughout the year

  • Other duties as assigned.

Special Skills Required: 

Knowledge of Skyward, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.

  • Ability to define and solve problems; collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality within and outside the school and work collegially with all staff members. 

  • Ability to adapt to and to use appropriate technology to process, store, and communicate data in a usable form through the creation of charts, graphs, spreadsheets, etc.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects, be flexible, and prioritize tasks in an organized and timely manner

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, while creating a positive and welcoming environment to all staff and visitors.

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in an unsupervised environment.

Degree/Special Training Required:

  1. High School diploma, or equivalent, required.

  2. Minimum of three years experience in a clerical role, preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Regular wage and benefits package for the Secretary II position. 12 month position, 8 hours per day,  7:00-3:30  Monday-Friday.
