Position Overview:

Mosinee High School is seeking a dynamic and innovative High School Band Director to lead and grow our instrumental music program. This individual will direct our high school band, including summer and fall marching band, pep band, jazz band and concert band performances. The ideal candidate is passionate about music education, eager to integrate technology into instruction, and committed to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage all aspects of the high school band program, including Concert Band, Marching Band, Pep Band and Jazz Band.

• Coordinate and lead fall marching band season, and performances at school and community events.
  

• Collaborate with the music department to align curriculum and ensure a seamless 6–12 music experience.
  

• Provide support for middle school band lessons and assist with building instrumental skills at the foundational level.
  

• Demonstrate comfort with emerging tools, including AI applications in music or education, while maintaining a student-first approach.
  

• Plan and coordinate performances, competitions, and other public appearances.
  

• Maintain a positive classroom environment and build strong relationships with students and families.

• Promote student opportunities to expand their music opportunities which may include weekend commitments.
  

• Work collaboratively with other staff members, participate in professional learning communities, and contribute to a positive school culture.
  

• Manage equipment, uniforms, and budget in coordination with administration and booster organizations.
  

• Promote student leadership and ownership within the band program.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Music (K–12 or appropriate secondary endorsement).
  

• Experience in directing school band programs, including marching band, preferred.
  

• Strong musicianship and pedagogical skills across a variety of instruments, including the ability to accompany students on piano.
  

• Willingness to embrace and learn new technologies, including AI tools, to support student engagement and program development.
  

• Ability to inspire and engage students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  

• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
  

• Dedication to building a thriving, student-centered music program that contributes to the overall school culture.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a collaborative team setting or professional learning community (PLC).
  

• Experience in building or expanding music programs.
  

• Familiarity with music composition/arranging software, digital audio workstations, or AI-powered music tools.
