Northland Pines Middle and High School is looking for a Social Studies teacher to join its amazing Family.  This educator will teach both middle and high school classes.  This educator will work within a Professional Learning Community model and positive work environment at Northland Pines Middle and High School, sharing in the collective responsibility to ensure strong student outcomes.  We are looking forward to having this educator bring knowledge and awareness of inclusive practices and demonstrated skill in researched based instructional practices; ability to create a rich and positive learning environment; and knowledge and experience in the integration of technology into the general curriculum to enhance student learning.  Internships or co-op opportunities would be considered.  On top of being able to work in an incredible school (and potentially be involved in extra-curricular activities), this educator will be living in a beautiful northwoods community that is supportive of education.  The school is nestled in the City of Eagle River with a school forest nearby, hiking trails, gardens and amazing facilities that have state of the art technology and resources available for teaching staff, students and community.  There are extra-curricular activities available. 

The candidate will have the following qualifications:

Possesses appropriate Wisconsin licensure

Is a professional educator who is student-centered and passionate about social studies

Has the ability to effectively engage students in a 1:1 environment

Possesses a desire to work collaboratively both intra-departmentally but also inter-departmentally

Has strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effect positive learning outcomes for students while accurately communicating results to parents/guardians

Has the ability to administer project-based assessments

Possesses an understanding of standards based instruction

Is an instructor who is committed to engaging in professional development relevant to the district's mission and building goals
