Behavior Support Specialist - Eagle River Elementary School - Vacancy ID: 231712

Northland Pines School District is seeking a Behavior Support Specialist to support students, school staff, and families by implementing evidence-based strategies that promote student engagement through positive behavior, self-regulation, and social-emotional growth. This role is integral in developing and maintaining tiered behavior intervention programming, supporting students with behavioral challenges, and fostering a positive school culture. The Behavior Support Specialist will work closely with staff to enhance proactive and reactive behavior supports within the school, ensuring alignment with the NPSD Behavior Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead implementation of Responsive Classroom, trauma-informed practices, and SEL programming.
  
  

• Support Multi-Level Systems of Support (MLSS) as a Student Success Team member.
  
  

• Develop and implement Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavior interventions.
  
  

• Provide individual and small-group instruction on self-regulation and social skills.
  
  

• Help students apply SEL skills in the classroom and school environment to lead to better academic outcomes.
  
  

• Coach teachers on classroom management, behavior supports, and de-escalation techniques.
  
  

• Assist with behavior data collection and analysis to track student progress.
  
  

• Respond to behavioral incidents and support students in crisis.
  
  

• Communicate regularly with families and community partners to support student success.

This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator with a strong background in behavior intervention, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning. The successful candidate will have a Wisconsin Educator license from the Department of Public Instruction, preferably in at least one of the following categories:

1. Elementary teacher

2. School Counselor

3. School Social Worker
