Eagle River Elementary School is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and student-centered 6th Grade Science teacher to join its amazing family. This teacher will work within a Professional Learning Community model and positive work environment at Eagle River Elementary School, sharing in the collective responsibility to ensure strong student outcomes. 

Relationships are at the heart of our classrooms, with teachers getting to know students and supporting their individual dreams and goals. We are looking forward to having this candidate bring knowledge and awareness of developmentally appropriate practices; Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and experience; demonstrated skill in researched based instructional practices; ability to create a rich and positive learning environment; and knowledge and experience in the integration of technology into the general curriculum to enhance student learning.   

On top of being able to work in our incredible schools, the candidate will be living in a beautiful northwoods community that is supportive of education. The schools are nestled in the woods near hiking trails, gardens, school forests and the precise facilities that have state of the art resources available for teaching staff.

JOB EXPECTATIONS:

  • Design and implement engaging, hands-on lessons in science aligned to NGSS academic standards and UDL practices to meet diverse student needs

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom through Responsive Classroom practices.

  • Use formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and provide targeted support or enrichment.

  • Collaborate weekly with the 6th-grade team within a PLC to plan instruction, analyze data, and adjust instructional strategies.

  • Communicate regularly with families, team members, and support staff to build strong partnerships.
