Darlington Elementary/Middle School, a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School in the category of closing achievement gaps, is seeking a dedicated and passionate ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher to join our award-winning team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to collaboration, a solution-focused mindset, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of middle school students who are expanding their English language skills. **Key Responsibilities:**

a. Assists bilingual students in small group activities, testing, playing educational games, reading and telling stories, discussions, special projects, use of programmed materials under the direction of a certified teacher or related service provider.
b. Facilitates accommodations for individual students as directed by the certified regular education teacher, bilingual teacher or related service providers as outlined in the child’s ESL plan.
c. Monitors and assists students during recess, lunch, and other times as directed by the principal.
d. Records and charts daily student progress as directed by the teacher or related service provider.
e. Assists students in the general education setting.
f. Provides assistance to related or support services, such as (for example) specialized transportation, specially designed physical education, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
g. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality in a professional manner.
h. Maintains positive and effective communications with students, parents, and staff.
i. Alerts the teacher of special needs of individual children.
j. Follows other instructional related duties as assigned

Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma, two years of post-high school experience or demonstration of two years post high school through assessment. Must be fluent in Spanish.
