The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE District Early Childhood Impact Coordinator with a projected start date of April 1, 2025.  This is a 260-day, nonunion position.
 
POSITION TITLE: Early Childhood Impact Coordinator
 
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:
The Early Childhood Impact Coordinator will coordinate transformational community impact efforts in Early Childhood. Based on the priorities identified in the community needs and assets assessments, this position will work with community stakeholders to improve early life outcomes by supporting or strengthening existing effective strategies and creating and implementing strategies that address the root causes of barriers to healthy development in our community. This position will be responsible for coordinating the needs and assets assessment, facilitating strategy meetings with stakeholders, and coordinating various communications and activities within the community, focusing on improving school readiness, healthy youth development, parenting skills, and family partnerships. This role will involve working closely with community agencies, families, and district staff to implement evidence-based practices and innovative solutions to support children from birth to age three.
 
● Program Implementation: Ensure the effective development and implementation of the Birth to 3 strategy, meeting established goals and objectives.
● Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong partnerships with community agencies, families, and district staff to collaboratively support and optimize healthy early childhood development in our community.
● Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize data to inform program adjustments and improvements, ensuring the strategy is responsive to community needs.
● Outcomes Achievement: Achieve measurable improvements in school readiness, youth development, and family engagement as outlined in the strategy's goals.
● Sustainability Planning: Develop and implement plans to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Birth to 3 strategy through partnership and resource development.
 
POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:
● Recruited by: Director of Human Resources
● Salary: Set annually by the Board of Education
● Length of Contract: 260-Days, Non-union, Full-time, Exempt
 
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
● Reports to: Director of Community Services
● Coordinates with: Superintendent of Schools, Associate Superintendent, Directors, Supervisors, identified community partners, families, and staff.
 
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Strategic Leadership:
○ Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Birth to 3 strategy.
○ Align the strategy with the Harvard IDEAS framework and the district's overall goals for early childhood education.
○ Regularly review and adapt the strategy based on emerging needs, data, stakeholder feedback and experience, and best practices.
 
● Community Needs and Assets Assessment:
○ Work with district staff and community stakeholders to complete community needs and assets assessments, as needed.
○ Organize, analyze and synthesize assessment outcomes with district and community stakeholders.
○ Investigate and identify suspected or known root causes of community barriers to healthy early childhood development.
 
● Partnership Development:
○ Build and maintain strong relationships with community agencies, healthcare providers, and families to create a coordinated support network.
○ Serve as the primary liaison between the district and community partners involved in early childhood impact initiatives.
○ Coordinate collaborative efforts to maximize resources and impact.
 
● Program Coordination:
○ Oversee the daily operations and management of the Birth to 3 strategy.
○ Coordinate needs and assets assessments, problem identification, and root cause analysis with stakeholders.
○ Develop and manage an action plan, including setting goals, timelines, and monitoring progress.
 
● Data Management and Evaluation:
○ Establish and maintain a comprehensive data collection and evaluation system to track progress and outcomes.
○ Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for program improvement.
○ Prepare regular reports on the impact of the strategy, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
 
● Family and Community Engagement:
○ Engage early childhood stakeholders to develop an impact team and support collaboration.
○ Implement family-focused outreach initiatives to enhance parenting skills and strengthen family partnerships.
○ Organize workshops, events, and resources that support healthy youth development and school readiness.
○ Ensure that the voices of families and caregivers are central to the strategy's development and implementation.
 
● Budget Management:
○ Manage the annual budget allocated to the strategy.
○ Ensure that resources are used efficiently and align with strategic priorities.
○ Identify and pursue additional funding opportunities to support and expand the strategy.
 
● Professional Development:
○ Stay informed about the latest research, trends, and best practices in early childhood prevention and early intervention.
○ Develop and maintain knowledge of local organizations that provide early childhood services and programming.
○ Provide support to district staff, community partners, and families on early childhood development topics.
○ Represent the district at relevant conferences, workshops, and community meetings.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
● Minimum Qualifications:
○ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
○ Experience: Minimum of 1 year of successful experience supporting or leading program implementation, systems change, or project management.
 
● Preferred Qualifications:
○ Knowledge of community planning, community and public health and facilitating community needs and asset assessments.
○ Successful experience collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data to various stakeholders.
○ Successful experience planning and presenting information or facilitating training to varied audiences.
○ Knowledge of resources available to families within the community.
○ Successful experience developing and implementing programs or services to address community needs.
○ Successful experience planning events and programs based on the needs identified by stakeholders.
