Position Details
Key Responsibilities
● Collaboratively design, coordinate, and facilitate both in-person and online training for educators and school leaders in areas such as Compassion Resilience, Restorative Practices, School SBIRT, Substance Use Prevention, School Safety, School-based Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, and Vaping.
● Plan, coordinate, and assist at the Building the Heart of Successful Schools conference.
● Provide technical assistance and evaluation to follow-up on professional learning.
● Work with the Center Director to develop a state work plan.
● Assist with the development and administration of state-wide needs assessment.
● Participate in online and in-person meetings to coordinate Center projects.
● Coordinate with the Communications Coordinator to provide consistent messaging and content with CESAs, schools, and other stakeholders.
● Seek out and collaborate with multiple systems and organizations, including schools, CESAs, DPI, and other partners.
● Serve as a project lead by creating long and short-term goals for the project that contribute to the WISH Center strategic plan, mission, and vision.
● Support data collection, assessment, and reporting efforts to measure the effectiveness of training and technical assistance.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
● This role requires approximately 20% travel within the region and state to support schools and attend meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
● Education:
o A master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of experience in school-based prevention, mental health, or student services.
o A bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
● Expertise in evidence-based practices related to Compassion Resilience, Restorative Practices, School SBIRT, Substance Use Prevention, School Safety, School-based Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, and Vaping.
● Strong understanding of adult professional learning and implementation science.
● Experience providing training and technical assistance.
● Ability to integrate technology to enhance professional learning and communication.
Skills & Competencies
● Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
● Strong relationship-building skills to engage CESAs, DPI, school districts, and other key partners.
● Effective project management skills to coordinate program planning, training, technical assistance, and evaluation.
● Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
● Comfortable conducting training and speaking in front of large groups of people.
● Ability to develop new training materials and resources that align with best practices.
● Ability to coach school improvement teams and individuals.
● Commitment to equity and culturally responsive practices in education.
● Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and adaptability skills.
● Ability to accept and apply feedback to improve performance.
● Valid driver’s license required for travel.
Reports to: Wisconsin Safe & Healthy Schools Center Director and CESA Fiscal Agent (A collaboration with the CESA Statewide Network and the Department of Public Instruction)
Term of Contract:
● Salary is to be negotiated based on experience, education, and length of contract by the CESA home base of employment.
● The contract is 200 days (dependent upon the amount of funding available).
● Benefits determined by the CESA home base of employment.
● This is a remote position. The Coordinator must reside in the WISH region they serve.
