The Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District is accepting applications for a full-time Alternative Education Teacher openings for the 2025-26 school year.

Job Title: High School Teacher – At-Risk Students & Credit Remediation
 
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate High School Teacher to support at-risk students in earning necessary credits for graduation. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction, individualized support, and credit remediation for students who have struggled with core academic subjects. This role requires patience, flexibility, and a commitment to student success.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the academic needs of at-risk students.
  • Provide direct instruction in core high school subjects (e.g., English, Math, Science, Social Studies) with an emphasis on credit recovery.
  • Use various instructional strategies, including technology-based programs, to engage students and reinforce learning.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to address gaps in knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, and support staff to develop intervention plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and credit recovery progress.
  • Build strong relationships with students to foster motivation, confidence, and academic persistence.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and challenges.
  • Support students in setting and achieving academic goals necessary for graduation.
  • Implement classroom management strategies that create a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Stay informed about best practices in alternative education, credit recovery, and social-emotional learning.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education.
  • Valid teaching license/certification in the appropriate subject area. Alt Ed Licences would be beneficial.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth, alternative education programs, or credit recovery programs preferred.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and individualized learning plans.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students who may have experienced academic failure.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and classroom management skills.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and online learning platforms for credit recovery.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with intervention programs and alternative instructional methods.
  • Training in trauma-informed teaching, restorative practices, or social-emotional learning.
  • Bilingual skills (depending on the student population).
