After-School Care Program Coordinator
 
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The After School Care Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and supervision of the District’s after-school care program. The position requires a dynamic individual capable of developing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for students in grades K-8. The Coordinator will work closely with students, parents, school staff, and community partners to ensure high-quality services and the overall success of the program.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Management:
○ Plan and organize daily after-school care activities that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for students.
○ Ensure that the program meets the needs of all enrolled students and aligns with District policies and regulations.
○ Develop and maintain program schedules, ensuring adequate supervision at all times.
○ Coordinate the recruitment, training, and supervision of after-school staff and volunteers.
○ Monitor program supplies, equipment, and materials, ensuring they are safe, appropriate, and well-maintained.
 
Supervision & Safety:
○ Ensure a safe and inclusive environment where students feel supported and respected.
○ Supervise and engage students in recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
○ Address any student behavioral issues in a positive and professional manner.
○ Maintain a safe physical environment by identifying and addressing any potential safety hazards.
 
Communication & Collaboration:
○ Communicate effectively with parents and school staff regarding the program and student progress.
○ Serve as a liaison between the after-school program and school administration, ensuring open communication.
○ Maintain accurate and confidential records of student attendance, behavior, and other relevant information.
○ Coordinate with external community partners and organizations to enhance program offerings.
 
Physical Demands:
○ Ability to move freely and frequently within the school environment.
○ Ability to lift and carry materials, supplies, and equipment up to 25 lbs.
○ Ability to sit, stand, and engage in physical activities for extended periods.
 
Working Conditions:
○ After-school hours, Monday through Friday (aligned with the District Academic Calendar).
○ Flexibility within schedule for meetings, special events, or training.
○ A positive and inclusive work environment focused on student success and community engagement.
 
Additional duties assigned by District Administration may be required.
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
9-month part-time position - 28.75 hours/week
Salary determined by the Board of Education and Employee Handbook
 
REPORTS TO and EVALUATED BY: District Administrator

1. High School Diploma (required).
2. Ability to engage and encourage the community's school age population.
3. Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Proficient with technology and relevant software applications.
6. Knowledge of child development principles and after-school programming best practices.
7. Ability to manage time effectively and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
8. Positive attitude, patience, and ability to build relationships with students and families.
