The Green Bay Area Public School District is accepting applications for a District Wide Spanish Bilingual Paraprofessional. The Green Bay Area Public Schools is seeking applications for a District-Wide Spanish Bilingual Paraprofessional.  This position interprets at Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and then translates the documents.  Additionally, this position supports communication with families in multiple schools that do not have a building level Spanish paraprofessional.  We are looking for somebody with strong computer skills and the ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish and English.  A District bilingual assessment will be given.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including but not limited to):
1. Follows the Core Values of the Green Bay Area Public School District as driver of our words and actions: Excellence, Engagement, Equity, Integrity, and

2. Reads a variety of materials (e.g., letters, instructional materials, brochures, articles, handbooks, bulletins) for the purpose of translating materials in target language and/or English.
3. Converts a variety of written materials (e.g., forms, letters, and instructional materials) from one language to another with speed and accuracy for the purpose of providing documents from/to second language for use in communication with students and/or student family members and the non-English speaking community members.
4. Supports parents in the completion of required paperwork.
5. Participates in workshops, conferences and/or meetings for the purpose of maintaining skills for professional growth and/or conveying information.
6. Verifies the translations made by other District staff for the purpose of reviewing and editing materials for accuracy, context, readability, grammar and style.
7. Provides translation/interpretation services for District staff as may be required.
8. Interprets at meetings and conferences when needed and upon request.

4. Work requires travel to a variety of assigned schools to provide services to children/families.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
• Education:
*Have at least two years of post-secondary education that is equivalent to at least 48 semester hours from an accredited higher education institution, OR
*Have obtained an associate (or higher) degree, OR
*Have met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to
assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness).
*Knowledge of cultural customs of the group representing.
• Competency:
*Demonstrated proficiency on the District Bilingual assessment
*Fluency in oral and written communication in English and one other major language

Strong computer skills, including typing and word processing.

Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in target language and
